Dear Milton Voters,

My name is Bill Bennett, and I am running for re-election as one of your Assessors. Milton has been my home for 24 years, where my wife Maura and I have raised our two sons. Serving this community has been a privilege, and I have dedicated my time to ensuring a fair and efficient assessment process for all residents. In addition to my 13 years on the Board of Assessors, I am a Town Meeting Member for Precinct 6 and have spent over 40 years as a Massachusetts Certified Real Estate Appraiser, working with organizations such as the FHA and HUD.

Beyond my professional experience, I have been deeply involved in our community, from serving on the Milton Youth Hockey Board of Directors to coaching youth hockey and baseball for over 12 years. My focus has always been on making Milton a better place for families and individuals alike. I am committed to continuing my work to improve accessibility, transparency, and support for our seniors and veterans. I would be grateful for your vote on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, so I can continue serving you for another three years.
Experience

As a member of the Board of Assessors I helped streamline the process of applying for abatements and exemptions by having all forms and applications available for completion on-line.

In 2021 successfully implemented a new Senior Tax Deferral Program giving our Senior Residents another option to assist them in being able to stay in their home.

In conjunction with the Director and Outreach Coordinator for the Milton Council on Aging, I, along with Assessing office staff, have regularly conducted informational presentations for Seniors at the COA for the purpose of providing in depth information about exemption benefits available to them.

Worked closely with the Town’s Veteran Agent so that our Veterans were kept aware of tax benefits available to them

Currently working with the Select Board to prepare an Article for Town Meeting that will make the Commonwealth’s HERO Act available to our Town’s Veterans
